Hello fellow educators and bloggers,
Its here, the moment we've all been waiting for...SUMMER!!! Overall, I'd have to say that this was a pretty successful year. I'm hoping it'll get easier as the years pass. The kiddos I was fortunate to have sure taught me a lot.
So, now what? I am looking forward to summer just to ease my stressed out mind, and I am going to try and organize my ideas now that I got a taste of the curriculum and such.
Here's my question to you? Do you leave your summers just for you or do you all do 'teacher things'...things for school and such? I'd love some ideas since this was my first year. Oh, and hope you all have a wonderful summer!!!

And the scores say....
WE DID IT!!! I'm so freaking happy that testing is over. I should have had more faith in my kiddos, but you live and you learn!! My campus is now EXEMPLARY for two years and I played a part in it!! I'm so proud of them!!
We have four days to finish the year out and although we had our ups and downs, I have a feeling that no other class will ever be like this group of kiddos. I'm so happy I've experienced my first year with them. :)
So just wanted to tell all my fellow educators, hope you had a wonderful year and may you have a relaxing summer because you deserve it!! :)

What did I get myself into??
So, semester one is down and we're two weeks into the 2nd semester. Who knew teaching 3rd grade could be so overwhelming??!! I've woken up with hives, and stressed myself to the point where I now think my stomach has turned backwards.
I thought teaching was going to be wonderful, exciting, and self fulfilling...but so far its been a humoungus headache!! I'm not saying I don't love my job and the kids, because that is the best part of it, it's everything else having to do with teaching...benchmarks, test, more test...TESTS!!!
It's like, no matter what I teach or how I teach it...they don't get it, it floats right over their heads. If it weren't for the few 3,4 students who get the good grades and use all the strategies...I don't know what I'd do.
Props to all you teachers who have stayed in so long...HOW DO YOU KEEP SANE!!!!

Its official!!!
So I had to wake up really early today, which I have not done all summer, to fill out paper work and take a badge picture. I already had one on file as a sub, but this is a new step for me so I chose for the sub pic to be thrown out and take a brand new TEACHER pic. :) I'm so excited to get my room and everything!!!! Only bad news...I have to go to a new teacher orientation on my birthday BORING!!! But oh well :) Well that's all the news I have for now. Thanks for stopping by!!

A new adventure!
My life as an ACTUAL teacher is about to begin! I was unable to get a teaching position because I failed the GALLUP survey for my district by ONE point..UGH!!! So for a year I was subbing and waiting, and giving up.
This last position I took was for a vacancy sub in 4th grade. It lasted four months and was by far on of the toughest things I have ever done. But...I'm def. going to miss those kiddos. I wish I could have stayed at the school, but I was fortunate enough to get hired at a new school (which I thought I would not get because the interview went horrible...in my mind).
I've accepted a 1st grade bilingual teaching position and am SO excited!!! I'm good at Spanish, but I'm trying to step up my game. This summer I'll probably be spending time going through some old college bilingual books, looking up info, trying to see what I can do to be the best. Any ideas on what could help?? Any tips??
I hope I can continue to use this blog to vent, complain and gloat about my new year. And I hope you'll join me along the way.Wish me luck!!!
